Stack Description
I’ve been living abroad for several years for business reasons. I’ve also traveled a lot by choice and know that even if I lost my job, I’d probably try to remain abroad. Something about the expat lifestyle appeals to me. Being in a different culture really focuses you and makes you aware of everything around you. You can’t take anything for granted. But I’ve also discovered that living abroad is not the same as being a tourist. I’ve always had a little bit of depression and maybe one way I’ve coped with it is by being on the move. Now that’s just not working as well. Is the novelty of the lifestyle just wearing off? Is it something else? I’ve come across a number of websites for “expat depression” and I thought I’d share them here. If people find more, please add them. I’m always looking for new information and strategies.
