Vaginal births after C-section increase risk of uterine rupture

According to this USA Today article, you are more likely to experience uterine damage if you try to give birth vaginally, versus doing a C-section, after having already given birth via Cesarean. I guess this means it’s best to discuss the risks involved with your doctor.

The article describes a comprehensive study by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development of the National Institutes of Health. I know women who have had successful vaginal births after a C-section for an earlier delivery, but it’s clear there are risks involved. This article helps you better understand the different issues.
